OVERVIEW

Ever wonder why some companies are so much more commercially successful than others?  We think about this all the time.  And after 50 years of working with numerous product development teams across multiple verticals (industrial, safety, med device, consumer, and robotics), we see consistent themes. These teams do one thing really, really well: they KNOW their customer.  But it doesn’t stop there.  The entire development team also acquires a deep understanding of their user’s environment and frustrations. Although they approach the challenge of developing a new product or service from different perspectives, these teams all work to achieve the same end goal –improved user experience. So, how do they accomplish this?  They target key themes and allow different perspectives to deepen their knowledge and understanding.

We articulate these themes with these basic questions:
  • Who is your customer?
  • What is their problem?
  • What is your product/service?
  • How does it solve their problem?
  • How do you produce it?
We are using our expertise and knowledge to launch a Bally Design Master Class on Design for Non-Designers, to help YOU answer these questions for YOUR product or service.

This year, we will explore six topics, spread across these foundational questions.

2023 TOPICS
  • Journey Mapping
  • Interviewing Techniques
  • Persona Development
  • Designing a User Interface
  • Usability and User Interactions
  • Prototyping Strategies
